Split
, evacuated tube solar water heating systems are slightly
more expensive to compare with integrated solar systems because they
are more complicated and an additional cost of circulation
pump, intelligent system controller, special valves and fittings
make that systems less affordable.
Due to longer distance for heat
exchange between solar collector and a water tank, systems are
little less efficient in comparison with integrated systems.
But because of the
better aesthetic system design (only thin and least visible solar
collector situated on the roof, and the water tank together
with all the fittings and a pump are placed inside the house) and is
not visible to the eye,
SPLIT solar systems are most welcomed all over the World, including
South African users.
Each
SPLIT
System consist:
- array of vacuum tubes
with three target absorption layers, integrated into manifold
(heat exchanger) and fastened to the s/steel or powder coated
aluminium holding frame for rust protection even on
coastal installation,
- stainless steel solar
water tank with high density, 60mm thick polyurethane
insulation layer with back up
electric element and safety
valve,
- circulation pump and a
intelligent controller (for active pumped installations),
- expansion vessel
for indirect SPCL (closed loop) systems,
Due to a
more complex design, the
circulation pump and system controller (for active pump
versions), such systems do require a
service plan and minimal
maintenance
during life time. Payback period is
approximately 4-5 years for the system from the date of
installation.
